Know before you go
Confirm the details of your itinerary / invoice - dates, destination, name spelling, times, etc. If Just Book It Travel booked flights for you, it is highly recommended that you login to the airline's website right away using your confirmation number (or PNR) to further confirm flight details (date, time, seats, name). While mistakes are rare, your travel agent is human ;) We recommend repeating this one week and again a few days prior to your travel date. Make sure you are paid in full by revisiting your most recent invoice.
The Just Book It Travel team will provide very detailed, customized instructions for ground transportation 7-10 days prior to travel. Be sure to read and follow all instructions. The instructions below are fairly generic.
Arrival: When you land, clear customs, and claim your baggage, you will walk down a LONG hallway with lots of people trying to sell you transportation, excursions, and all sorts of things - walk straight and don't blink -- You will find the transportation company outside of the terminal with a sign that reflects the name of your provider as listed on your CUSTOMIZED travel documents. Be sure to obtain a boarding pass from the driver that DROPS YOU OFF which will also obtain your return pick-up time for traveling home. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
Return Home Instructions: Be sure to obtain a boarding pass from the driver that DROPS YOU OFF which will also contain your return pick-up time for traveling home, but refer to your customized instructions as this may or may not be a requirement. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT - If you misplace or do not obtain the pickup time, please call the emergency number listed on your travel documents for assistance! (We will not have this information) Please verify that you have a printable voucher included in your travel documents with details for your transportation - this is very important.
Be sure to allow 15 - 30 minutes to check out of the resort. You must check out and obtain a check-out slip before you can leave the property. Your transport vehicle will not wait for you.
A passport book is required for entry into our destinations by air. Your passport must be valid at time of entry.
Click HERE to see official travel regulations for entry and exit, and be sure to adhere to all requirements.
There are no current requirements for a negative COVID test or vaccination for entry to Mexico or return to the United States. We always encourage guests to test before and after travel to “know where you stand”, however this is no longer a CDC requirement. Since regulations can change at anytime, feel free to use the resource link provided to find the most latest requirements.
For more information and answers to common questions please contact the CDC or visit www.cdc.gov.
Be sure to pack a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, bug spray, sunscreen, headache medicine, stomach medicine, feminine products, shaving cream/razors, and all necessities – the hotel’s gift shop are VERY expensive. Be sure to check with your event host (ie. wedding couple) for any event specific attire or travel packing requirements.
If you have a Delta Skymiles number, please provide it to us. If you have an AAdvantage number, please login to your itinerary and add this number online. We want to be sure that you’re getting credited for mileage for this trip (if we booked the flights for you)!
Each airline has their own policy around checked-in luggage. We advise you to check the airline's policy directly. Checked luggage is not included in your travel package. Try to travel light and avoid oversized / overweight suitcases. Most airlines will charge more for these bags as overweighing a plan can cause mechanical problems and physical problems for baggage handlers as well as yourselves.
Please locate your original travel documents by searching for emails from Just Book It Travel. Give your travel documents a second set of eyes and if you would like to upgrade your room type, please let us know as soon as possible. It is your vacation!
Please login directly to the airliner directly Ie. (www.delta.com) or (www.aa.com) by clicking “Manage My Trips” and using the confirmation number found on your original booking confirmation to change your seats or coordinate seating arrangements near your friends and family. You may also be able to upgrade your seating in advance.
Airlines are constantly changing their flight schedules to meet changing demands. It is possible that your originally booked flight time has changed. When you login to the airliner, please setup text or email alerts so that you are aware of any time or gate changes. You may receive these updates automatically if you have a registered rewards account with the airliner. Be sure to check in for your flight within 24 hours of takeoff and arrive to the airport at least 3 hours prior to takeoff.
Most of the luxury all-inclusive resorts have a ‘casual elegance’ or ‘formal’ evening dress code at certain restaurants. We like to think of it as ‘Vegas Nights’. This requires men to wear long pants, collar and/or polo shirts. T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, beach sandals, and flip flops are typically not allowed at certain dinner restaurants. Dress codes for restaurants are posted on the resort’s website.
Check-In time is usually 3:00 pm, but if you arrive before check-in, you can use the complementary luggage service to store your luggage and gain immediate access to all of the resort’s pools, beaches, restaurants and other amenities right away. We recommend packing beach clothes in your carry-on luggage so that you can head straight to the beach! Our best advice is to be very nice at check-in and ask if they can accommodate an earlier room, but it’s never a guarantee!
Check out time is usually 12:00 pm. If your flight departs later, you can arrange to have your luggage stored and spend as much time as possible beside the sea, soaking up the sun. Make sure that you check-out on time to prevent any extra charges. Some hotels offer a so-called "Late Check-Out" subject to availability, so you can keep your room longer, however, additional charges may apply. Please check on this directly with the hotel.
Gratuity/Tips are not required, but highly recommended. We recommend guests to support the local economy by tipping, as wages in Mexico are relatively low. We recommend $1 per drink, $5 at dinner, and $5 per night for maid service. Feel free to be as generous as you’d like and give what’s on your heart at all times. Keep an eye out on the exchange rate when tipping in Pesos - $20 Pesos is NOT $20. (If you leave the resort, please use standard U.S. tipping guidelines - 20% at restaurants)
Brides & Grooms of destination weddings - be sure to tip your local wedding planner(s) 😊
The Mexican Peso is the legal currency in Mexico but most merchants accept U.S. Dollars, and major credit cards, i.e. VISA®, MasterCard® and some also accept American Express®. Small shops will only accept cash (USD or Pesos) Most hotels have an ATM inside the resort. Check the current exchange rate here. We recommend that if you plan to convert cash, check with your local banking institution as sometimes the airport can include convenience charges for currency conversion. Also, currency conversion is not a requirement – we’ve never experienced USD rejection!
Most resorts have safe deposit boxes in each room. We recommend storing passports, computers, jewelry, cash, and wallets in these secure areas.
Complimentary unlimited WIFI is available throughout the property.
Contact your service provider and provide them with your dates of travel and destination. Most providers are allowing unlimited data and phone calls, but you have to call them and initiate the request or you’ll be charged.
Each resort has an on-site clinic for medical emergencies. Be sure to travel with your health insurance card in the event of travel emergencies.
Feel free to book your spa appointment upon arrival. Ask about any specials as well!
If you have any special needs or special requests, please let us know. If it is something that you’ll need upon arrival, we can connect you with a concierge.
